JD Vance says NATO should only be supported if Europe gets along with Elon Musk– Brit Commerce

JD Vance, vice presidential candidate and generally odd guy, made a recent appearance on Vance’s YouTube show Shawn Ryan where he defended Elon Musk’s honor. Interestingly, Vance insisted that if European countries are not nicer to the billionaire owner of X, the United States should not support the NATO alliance.

Vance told Ryan he forgot “exactly which EU official” had been mean to Musk, but said the regulator “sent Elon this threatening letter that basically said, ‘We’re going to arrest you if you support Donald Trump, who, by the way, is the likely next president of the United States. ’”

Vance appears to be thinking of Thierry Breton, a European regulator, who sent a letter to Musk back in August. Breton expressed concern about the way extremist content has recently been promoted on X, though he stopped short of threatening to arrest Musk. Vance insisted that this all amounted to censorship, a word he doesn’t seem to fully understand.

“What the United States should be saying is, ‘Oh, if NATO wants us to continue to support them and wants us to continue to be good participants in this military alliance, why don’t they respect American values and freedom of speech?’” Vance said.

To be clear, there is nothing in the NATO treaty that requires European countries to ignore their own laws on spreading disinformation and hate speech to appease the US or Ohio senators, for that matter.

“It’s crazy for us to support a military alliance if that military alliance is not going to be in favor of free speech,” Vance continued. “I think we can do both, but we have to say that American power comes with certain conditions. One of them is respect for freedom of speech, especially among our European allies.”

Vance then went on to insult other nations around the world while attempting to put Europe in its place.

“Look, I’m not going to go to a backward country and tell them how to live their lives, but European countries should, in theory, share American values, especially on some very basic issues like freedom of speech,” Vance said.

Vance has been a controversial figure since being named Trump’s running mate, repeatedly insulting people who don’t have children and saying that “childless cat ladies” are ruining America. The vice presidential candidate was also instrumental in spreading a racist lie that Haitian immigrants in Ohio were eating pets in the city of Springfield, Ohio.

But somehow Trump’s entire campaign seems to be getting more extreme and racist by the day. An ad Trump released on Tuesday Social Truth The ad features Harris and Walz in 1960s Chinese communist garb and calls Walz a Manchurian candidate. It’s packed with racist music, racist statements, and is just one of the most racist things you’ll see come out of any supposedly “mainstream” political campaign.

There are 49 days until Election Day. If you haven’t registered to vote yet, you should do so. Because this election is important.
