Gaten Matarazzo on the latest Stranger Things adventure and preparing for the finale– Brit Commerce

It’s always a big deal when a big show ends and next year Netflix says goodbye to it. stranger things after five seasons. For much of the cast, the show gave them breakout roles that they’ve used to help build their careers, and leaving it behind after so long brings up a range of emotions.

Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin, recently told the hollywood reporter he is somewhere in between. By his own admission, he was initially ready to wrap up the final season, but now that the show is nearing the final line of production, his tune has understandably changed. Now, he finds himself remembering how young he and his co-stars like Caleb McLaughlin and Millie Bobby Brown were when they started. And like seniors who are about to graduate high school, it feels a little stuck in time: the “different things” from the first season seem to have happened recently.

“At this point, I’ve almost been doing stranger things “More time than I haven’t done it,” Matarazzo commented. “It’s been quite shocking to realize how quickly everything flew by. […] Accepting abandonment is increasingly difficult, both in the workplace and in life. You can always wait for the next season, professionally and emotionally. So it will be a different adjustment and I can’t wait to see what happens next.”

As for what will happen next in stranger things, Matarazzo had some interesting banter. While in previous seasons Dustin had a different character, this is now happening to the entire main cast. He told THR that they would all be “paired differently” than their usual groups, which will create “lots of opportunities for fun” for everyone. Without revealing anything, he indicated that Dustin would share screen time with characters he has. and He hasn’t done it before. “It’s a good balance between familiarity and keeping that family together,” he joked, “but also seeing how much we can elevate these characters with each other.”
