Tom Holland Loves Latest Spider-Man 4 Draft, But Explains Struggle Getting It Made– Brit Commerce

Tom Holland wants to do spider man 4 As much as fans want to see it. In a new interview, the actor spoke at length about the project, including the fact that he read a draft three weeks ago and “lit a fire in it.” He wants to do it as soon as possible, just like Marvel and Sony. But, the actor explained, because he no longer has a contract and because of the complexities of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it has not yet been fully finalized.

Holland spoke for almost two hours about the Rich Roll Podcast about almost everything in his life: his family, his career, his sobriety and more. It’s a fantastic interview that of course also delves into the MCU and Spider-Man. Near the end of the interview, Roll asks about some of the challenges the Netherlands is currently facing and says the biggest one is Spider-Man 4. You can watch this specific segment, which is about six minutes long, at 1:30:35 below, and then we’ll pull out some quotes.

“I think the biggest challenge I’m facing right now, which is hands down the most first-world problem anyone has ever experienced, is the power of choice and it all comes down to Spider-Man.” Holland said. “When I signed my contract for [the first] spider manI signed a contract for six films. I was 18 years old. I was more excited than ever about anything, and for the last 10 years I have been at Marvel and Sony’s beck and call, and proudly so. It has been the best experience of my life. I’m now at a juncture where I can say “No,” and now that I’ve been given that power, I’m struggling to figure out what’s right. It means I’ve had to put my foot down in certain cases, something I haven’t been allowed to do in the past, and I think the learning curve I’m on now is dealing with that new sense of power… making sure I don’t abuse it, but [also] making sure I’m doing what’s best for me and not the studio. And really the best for the character. “I don’t want to make another film just to make it.”

We ask ourselves: what has Holland decided? Continuous.

“[The studio wants me to make another Spider-Man] and I want to do another one. “I want to do a lot more but I want to do it for the right reasons,” he said. “I’m navigating and discovering what it means to have that kind of power and that responsibility. And I’m finding out and talking to people and asking questions… I’ve been talking to [Robert] Downey a lot, especially his return, which is super exciting. It was a difficult secret to keep because I have a reputation for ruining things and strategically I have not done any press.”

Of course, Holland knew Downey would return as Doctor Doom, and of course he knew he might reveal the secret. Continuous.

“In no way am I complaining. “It’s a wonderful place to be, but it’s something that keeps me up at night and I’m constantly thinking,” Holland said. “Is this the right thing to do? Will I do justice to the character? Am I going to do justice to the fans? “I definitely don’t want to make a movie for the sake of it because that’s not what Spider-Man represents… Although it’s going very well.”

I feel like I owe it to [the fans] to give and deliver the best version of what the next chapter of Spider-Man will be like,” he said. “And I think that’s really important and I think the creative integrity for something like that is really important. And the studio is on board, supportive and really collaborative, and I’ve been really impressed with how welcoming they’ve been in that creative room, but now we’re going full pedal to the metal. We are trying to get it working as soon as possible. “Things are looking great, but there are still a lot of moving pieces that need to come together before we can get to work.”

We love that you say that the project is “hitting the gas” and they want to finish it “as soon as possible.” However, that makes you wonder, why aren’t they? Holland responded.

“I’m not really sure how much I can talk about in terms of ‘What are some of the challenges we face creatively and logistically?’” he said. “Obviously, one of the things you have to keep in mind with Marvel is that your movie is a small cog in a big machine and that machine has to keep running and you have to make sure that you can fit it into that timeline at the right time. to benefit the bigger picture… That’s one of the challenges we face, and the time frame in which we need to achieve it is a tall order, but it can definitely be achieved with the fantastic people we have working on it now.”

“But the most important thing is the creative,” Holland continued. “We have a creative, a pitch and a draft that is excellent. It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job and I read it three weeks ago and it really lit my fire. Zendaya and I sat down and read it together and at times we were like jumping around the living room. As if this is a real movie worthy of fans’ respect, but there is [are] A few things we need to figure out before we can really get it going. But it’s exciting and I’m very, very excited about it.”

We’re excited too, Tom. We are excited too.

But to break down those last thoughts a bit, Holland’s comments seem to point to the long-standing rumor of a conflict over the film’s scope. Their talk about fitting it into the MCU potentially makes it seem like the issue of street-level story or multiverse mega-movie has been an issue. But apparently a decision has been made and hopefully we’ll get concrete news soon.

And, again, we urge you to consult the Roll’s full interview with Holland. He talks about wanting to mentor a young Miles Morales actor, being in the MCU’s giant chat room, and more. It’s fantastic.
