It’s been almost five years since Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren faded away in the final moments of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Since then, Disney and Lucasfilm have been careful to avoid making much of anything set after the Sequel trilogy (or in its general time frame), but the two companies must think now is the right time to give old Ben Solo a comic in progress.
Written by Charles Soule (Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren) and drawn by Luke Ross (Star Wars: The Bounty Hunter War), he Vader’s Legacy The series will continue with Ren after the events of the last jedi. Seeking to finish what his grandfather started, the story will begin with Ren exploring the remains of Vader’s castle on Mustafar, and then walking through the rough, thick sands of Tatooine. If that wasn’t interesting enough, we’ll also see how well Kylo fared as Supreme Leader of the First Order after cutting Snoke in half.
Soule explained that this new book will continue to shed light on an unknown part of Kylo Ren’s life, especially since the events of the first two films are still on his mind. “[He’s] Really lost in this particular moment,” Soule said. “[All of that] It’s spinning around in your emotional matrix, making you deeply unstable, angry, and dangerous. He’s seeking any form of guidance he can get, even if he won’t admit it, and so he turns to the only thing he has left, the legacy of his grandfather, the Sith Lord Darth Vader. A deeper insight into Vader himself will also be provided, although Soule didn’t say what to expect on that front.
Star Wars: Vader’s Legacy It starts on February 5, 2025 and you can see the preview pages below.
