Bluesky now has a specific tab for mentions in your notifications as part of the app update 1.96 just released. With the mentions tab, it is much easier to see your responses or conversations in which you have been tagged on the platform.
Speaking of replies, update 1.96 gives you easy access to settings that let you control how replies to posts appear to you. Replies can be linear, meaning they appear post after post, or threaded, meaning they appear in indented threads (kind of like how they appear on Reddit). You can also sort responses by newest, oldest, most liked, “hot,” and “random” (what Bluesky also calls “poster roulette”).
If you choose to set a custom domain as your username, with 1.96, Bluesky will also reserve your old .bsky.social name so that no one else can use it. I wish this feature had been available when I set up my custom domain; when I did, I created an alternate account that is parked under my old .bsky.social name so it won’t be used.
