DC Studios Is Making an Animated Puppet Movie Featuring 2 Robins– Brit Commerce

If anyone wants to know how DC Studios will be different from Marvel Studios, here’s the best answer so far. James Gunn just confirmed that the studio greenlit a movie called dynamic duowhich will act as an origin story for Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, who become Robin, and will be told through puppet animation.

Deadline first broke the news and reports. the film “will follow the early days of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, also known as the Robins.” However, it is noteworthy that when fans hear the words “Dynamic Duo”, we do not think of two Robins. We think of a Robin and a Batman. So we’ll see how, or if, that influences.

Gunn confirmed the project on his social networks…

This all sounds very intriguing and interesting, but we have questions. Questions like, what exactly is puppet animation like? Well, the movie is being produced by a company called Swaybox; if you visit their websiteHis style makes you think of something similar to Laika. So maybe some kind of coraline-Esque look, but in the DC Universe. Deadline describes it as “a cross between CGI animation, practical stop-motion elements and real-time live-action performance. The result is a full-length narrative that announces itself as visually stunning, dynamically expressive and more human.”

Written by Matthew Aldrich, dynamic duo will be led by Arthur Mintz, one of the co-founders of Swaybox along with Theresa Andersson. DC Studio bosses Gunn and Peter Safran are among the producers alongside Matt Reeves, director of The Batman.

“I have wanted to make a movie with Arthur and Swaybox for many years, and for that movie to be dynamic duo“An incredibly special and unique Batman and Robin story for families is a dream,” Reeves told the exchange. But, despite its enthusiasm, the film will not be part of Reeves’ universe. It could, hypothetically, act as an origin story for the larger DC Universe or fit into its Elseworlds banner, but it’s unclear at the moment whether it’s one or the other. When asked where the film fits in, a source close to the production only confirmed the news that it is not part of Reeves’ universe.

But this is fascinating, right? We have a lively show, creature commands, kicking off the DC Gunn/Safran Universe. So, a Superman movie, a Green Lantern show, a Supergirl movie, and maybe a Robin origin story with puppets? This is certainly not Marvel and we are happy about it.
