Hyundai said Monday it will send customers who purchased or leased an electric vehicle before Jan. 31 a free charging adapter that will allow them to access Tesla’s supercharging network.
The Hyundai-authorized adapter will give drivers of CCS port-equipped Hyundai electric vehicles access to more than 20,000 Tesla Superchargers in the United States. according to hyundai. The free adapters will be available to eligible owners of Kona Electric, Ioniq hatchback, Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 vehicles from the 2024 model year and earlier. Hyundai said the Ioniq 6, Ioniq 5 N and Kona Electric vehicles from the 2025 model year are also eligible.
Customers must order the free NAC adapter through the MyHyundai online owner portal.
Support for Tesla’s charging connector and charging port, called the North American Charging Standard, has accelerated since Ford and GM announced plans in 2023 to integrate the technology into the next generation of electric vehicles and sell adapters. for current EV owners to gain access.
