A Tesla Cybertruck that caught fire Wednesday morning outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas is under investigation by local authorities.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a post on social media site X that the fire was out and was being investigated. The fire was reported around 8:40 a.m. PT, according to the Las Vegas Review Magazine.
A witness who captured the fire from inside the hotel lobby and I posted it on xHe said the vehicle stopped outside and then “exploded.” The video and others like it spread quickly on X.
The incident comes as Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk maintains a close connection with President-elect Donald Trump. A review of Musk’s flight data showed at least 31 flights to or from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property in Florida. This week, the The New York Times reported that Musk has been staying in a cabin on the Mar-a-Lago property.
