According to the discord backup service of third parties, the violation originally reported today by Leakd “is not accurate”. Restorecord says there was a “small incident in November 2023 where a staff member incorrectly shared a limited number of IP addresses.” Restorecord also disputes the severity of one of the data points in the escape, saying that the IP addresses in the escape are “IP generated randomly instead of the real information of the user”.
The company also disputes the number of IP addresses that were leaked, saying that there were less than 5,000 in total.
In addition, based on this new information, britcommerce could find that the “Restoecord 840K record file records recorded” that contained the stolen data had been published in other hacker forums last year.

Almost a million Discord users have just had the details of their account, including user names, IP addresses and discord, exposed in a piracy forum.
