“Galactic I was finishing. Caprica I was starting just around that period. I received a call that George Lucas wants to meet [me] About a possible series, ”said Moore. “So I meet George … and producer Rick McCallum, and at that moment George wanted to do a live action Star Wars Television series … What I wanted to do is that I wanted to bring together a group of writers, a kind of international writer group. So I was one of the Americans and there were some from the United Kingdom and Australia [and] New Zealand, and he would gather us at Skywalker Ranch for a long weekend … we would go for these long weekends, or a week or something, at the same time with George in a conference room in Skywalker Ranch and break these stories. Then we go for another six weeks for ourselves, we wrote the scripts, then we accompany each other, we talked about notes, we would make another group of scripts. “
“This continued for a year or two or something,” Moore continued. “We simply gathered, we broke, gather, break and … we wrote something like, I think, 48 or 50 episodes … it is definitely in the 40s … and when we reached that point, George said: ‘It’s okay, that’s enough.’ Go to take it or leave it.
This, however, is where the part of the history of McCallum entered. Lucas’s idea was a great idea in theory, but the program was so prohibitively expensive that Lucas never did. So, of course, Lucasfilm sold, and Star WarsTo Disney, and that was all.
Even so, Moore says that he personally wrote two of the scripts and treasures the experience, especially discussing Star Wars With the creator himself. “At a certain point, you overcome your astonishment and now you are in a writer’s room and he is telling you something about Darth Vader that makes no sense,” said Moore, before breaking into a Lucas impression. “You are like ‘Oh, my God, what am I doing? Where am I?’ You simply forget and now you are at the story conference having a discussion. “
